Jehoschua) bedeutet &#8222;Der Herr rettet&#8220;, in seiner griechischen Form ist der Name uns sehr vertraut &#8211; Jesus.<br>Josua war zun\u00e4chst Sch\u00fcler und Diener, dann der Nachfolger im Amt des Moses, es war seine Aufgabe das verhei\u00dfene Land zu erobern und damit dem Volk Israel eine Heimat zu schaffen.<br>Geschichtlich schlie\u00dft das Buch Josua nahtlos an das f\u00fcnfte Buch Mose an, hier geht die Verhei\u00dfung f\u00fcr das Volk in seine Erf\u00fcllung \u00fcber.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mose hatte Israel bis an die Grenze Kanaans gef\u00fchrt, unter Josua \u00fcberquerten die St\u00e4mme nun den Jordan und begannen mit den K\u00e4mpfen gegen die ans\u00e4\u00dfigen V\u00f6lker. Dabei war es f\u00fcr das Volk weiterhin wichtig sich genau an Gottes Gebote zu halten, davon hingen jeweils Sieg und Niederlage ab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Im Buch Josua lesen wir von Wundern die Gott f\u00fcr seine Kinder vollbringt aber auch von den Folgen die unser Ungehorsam nach sich zieht.<br>Nach der erfolgreichen Eroberung des Gebietes welches Gott bereits Abraham versprochen hatte, werden uns die genauen Grenzen der 12 St\u00e4mme und damit des Landes Israel genannt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Das ganze Buch ist ein Vorbild f\u00fcr den geistigen Kampf in dem wir heute stehen (siehe den Brief von Paulus an die Epheser).<br>Die Verhei\u00dfungen in Christus sind bereits erf\u00fcllt, es ist unsere Aufgabe diese Segnungen auch &#8222;einzunehmen&#8220; um sie genie\u00dfen zu k\u00f6nnen, freiwillig wird der Feind uns genau so wenig geben wie es auch die Feinde Israels taten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In unserer christlichen Tradition ist das Buch von Josua den geschichtlichen B\u00fcchern zugeordnet, im hebr\u00e4ischen Tenach geh\u00f6rt es als erstes Buch der Propheten zum zweiten Teil des biblischen Kanons. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Der \u00dcberlieferung nach ist Josua selbst der Verfasser dieses Buches, damit ist es noch in der zweiten H\u00e4lfte des 16. vorchristlichen Jahrhunderts entstanden.<br>Es endet mit den Abschiedsreden von Josua und berichtet, dass Israel seinem Gott treu
