writer of the Gospel of Mark, he was a companion and co-worker of Paul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Luke, who also wrote the Book of Acts, is the only author of the Bible who was presumably not of Jewish origin but of Greek descent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Luke was in all likelihood not present during the events themselves, but it appears that he \u201cinterviewed\u201d all available eyewitnesses and researched every detail thoroughly before writing his account.<br>He wrote the Gospel as a colleague of Paul, likely during the time Paul was imprisoned in Caesarea, around the year 58 or 59 AD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His focus on Jesus is on the Son of Man, Jesus\u2019 complete humanity, his love and compassion, but also his awareness of his total dependence on God<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Like Mark\u2019s Gospel, Luke\u2019s Gospel is primarily directed at the \u201cGentile Christian\u201d world.
